Chamber Gala Introduces New Awards in Fountain Hills

Fountain Hills, AZ–The Fountain Hills Chamber presented five major awards to a packed house at the Great Gatsby themed Gala on Saturday, January 24, 2015.

In a surprise performance, the staff from the Elkie Law Office presented a dance to "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” from the Great Gatsby. The crowd went crazy, cheering on the local law firm staff as they strut their stuff on the dance floor.

The festive evening was filled with the spirit of the Great Gatsby by every attendee including Mayor Linda Kavanagh and State Senator John Kavanagh. The list of former Fountain Hills mayors included Jerry Miles, Sharon Morgan and Jay Schlum who is currently serving as the Chair of the Chamber’s Board.

The Chamber recognized the following award recipients:

  • Drs. Tim & Lisa Loving, Loving Family Dental, Business Person of the Year
  • Rich Langner, Concept Development Corporation, Mayor’s Award
  • Stephanie Wildeman, Sofrita, Customer Service Award of the Year
  • Gail Appledorn, Chamber Volunteer of the Year
  • Four Peaks Rotary, Non-Profit of the Year

Finalists for Business Person of the Year included David Racich, President/CEO of Brokers Alliance, Cindy Holliday, Owner of TruFit Studios. 

While presenting the Customer Service award, Jeremy Hall, President, MCO Properties, remarked about the value of exceptional customer service and how Fountain Hills businesses treat visitors very well. 

Mayor Linda Kavanagh presented the Mayor’s Award to Concept Development Corporation–an 8 person local company with products distributed worldwide. Their latest development of EOD Laser product is for use by bomb squads to acquire IED targets for disposal.

The Chamber’s CEO, Scott Soldat-Valenzuela, commented, “This was an amazing recognition opportunity for local business professionals to shine. We are thrilled with the participation and support for Fountain Hills. Almost everyone was dressed in their Gatsby best”

As part of the fun, the audience was enlisted to applaud for the Best Dressed in both men and women’s categories. The winners were Brilee Horning, wife of board member Colin Horning, and Tyler Allen from the Elkie Law office table.

The Chamber featured The Great Gatsby theme and the event was flush with spectator shoes, flapper dresses, long pearls and music to match the thrill of the Roaring 1920’s.

The Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1974 to represent the local business community. Today the Chamber has over 350 members and runs two large art fairs, a business expo and various other business community events.
