The EVCCA rolls out 2016 legislative agenda to a room full of business professionals and legislators.
On Monday, December 7, Tom Dorn, lobbyist for the Alliance, introduced the newly revised policy statements of the nine east valley Chambers of Commerce. Fountain Hills is the latest edition to the mix bringing nearly 400 members and a new emphasis on public policy for the local business community.
Senate president, Andy Biggs, along with District 23 legislators, state senator John Kavavnagh, state representative Jay Lawrence participated in the open remarks portion while all supporting the efforts of the EVCCA to represent nearly 6,000 businesses and hundreds of thousands of employees.
Public policy chair and board member, Jay Schlum, joined Fountain Hills Unified School District Superintendent, Dr. Patrick Sweeney and VFW representative and board member, Boe James along with President/CEO, Scott Soldat-Valenzuela at the Edward Jones campus in Tempe.
The Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors, has endorsed the agenda and continues to review issues that impact our members. The Chamber’s public policy committee meetings monthly to discuss current and up-coming topics ensuring the ability to inform members of the organization.
During the past year, the public policy committee has discussed road construction (infrastructure), the impact of marijuana legalization, vision fountain hills, a-frame signage and many other important topics of interest to members.
