Monday Member Spotlight: Washington Federal & UMB
Happy Monday, everyone! This week’s “Monday Member Spotlight” is on two of our members, as they have teamed up to help those in need right here in Fountain Hills! We love to see our members support each other, and we especially love to see when this interaction leads to giving back to the community.
2017 marks a big year for one of our Chamber members; Washington Federal is celebrating their 100th year in business, and their 17th year serving the community of Fountain Hills. Patricia Snyder, a personal banker from Washington Federal said their branch wanted “To give something back to the town that has provided us immense kindness and support!”. So, an idea was hatched.
Washington Federal recently reached out to our fellow members of the financial community and teamed up with UMB and created a “Summer Food Drive” to support Extended Hands Food Bank!
The summer can be a difficult time for food banks, as things slow down around town. This can drastically affect the supplies that are available for those in need. Washington Federal and UMB Bank are asking on behalf of Extended Hands Food bank to donate items to help get them through the difficult summer months.
They are collecting the following items to help families in need from June 21st, until September 22nd.
- Peanut Butter & Jelly
- Mac & Cheese
- Tuna Fish
- Cereal
- Canned vegetables and canned fruit
- Bottled water
- and all other non-perishable, non-expired food items
If you would like to donate to the food drive, all items may be dropped in the blue bins located at the following bank branches.
