“Parenting Made Easy!”

The LEAP to SLEEP
As we continue to present the 12 basics for guiding children successfully, we keep uncovering many a surprise. Most interesting is that they are all based on centuries of parenting wisdom. Believe it or not, with your ”iceberg” on the cake of “communication,” you will be understanding your child better each day and be primed daily not to “miss a trick.”Now is the time to turn to the most basic way known to man to have high functioning well-developed kids (and their parents too). That is with “basic health” care for the BODY, MIND and SPIRIT.
Good health practices are it—Let’s start with the BODY. Everyday for everybody ages one day to 100 and more should be filled with the best practices possible. While these may look and sound simple, modern times has made them highly elusive and very hard to carry out. For this month of February put your attention on one of the main roads of effective “health care”—and that is SLEEP. Sit back, relax and let “Nature’s” pillar of strength take hold. Stand back, take stock and “begin the joy” of the benefits of a truly full, appropriate and effective night’s sleep.
How could something as quiet and seemingly non-active as sleep be one of the most important parts of your day, month and year? It can, and it is, and here’s how!
To sleep real sleep, is solid gold
But hard to do as I am told.
So listen please to what I tell.
Success is how you do it well.
FIRST you show you love day’s end.
Decide that sleep’s your real best friend.BEGIN
STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING
You name your time to end your day.
You stop all jobs; put work away.
No ifs or buts.
No lil shortcuts.
That’s it for night.
Please do this right.
PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Think through your day
In your own way.
Then end each care.
Make them not there.
With chores all done
You start your fun.
No more to do.
Just thoughts of you.
.
GO TO BED
Go inch by inch.
It is a synch.
It’s only fair.
Your bed is there.
No going back.
Please stay on track.
This place you know.
Is where to go.
To
REST RELAX REPAIRREST
I have no doubt
You are warn out.
Then rest in bed
For joy instead.
RELAX
You choose this space
To change your pace.
Relax right now.
You do know how.
REPAIR
And once asleep
That is so deep.
Repair goes through.
Like no one knew!
AWAKE AND WOW!
You went to bed
Just like I said.
You met your day
A whole new way.
Same old same old nothing new.
And best of all is this is “true.”Some helpful before bed hints …
1. Strive for the same time each night.
2. Have a regular relaxing routine.
3. Keep a total focus on REST, RELAX and REPAIR.
