Governor Ducey asks East Valley businesses for support
With over 300 business and elected leaders in attendance, Governor Ducey asked everyone to support Proposition 123 among other issues at the 2016 East Valley Governor’s breakfast.
The Governor’s agenda for 2016 has been dubbed aggressive. He promised tax cuts for the next 3 years, major support for education, welcoming California businesses and numerous other business related programs to spur innovation, healthy competition and to, in the Governor’s words, “make Arizona great.”
In his push for education he mentioned the need to “provide resources for aging schools to repair and rebuild their facilities for future students.” This means AP high students can receive more money for in-state tuition.
He’s always touted his experience at Cold Stone Creamery, which was sold in 2007, as the cornerstone of his over 25 years in business. During the address, the Governor said, “Whether it was allowing inventors at TechShop in Chandler greater freedom to crowdfund, or ending sting operations against ridesharing by overzealous state regulators – we’ve embraced innovation, and we’re not done yet.” He frequently discussed out-of-touch business regulations and laws that are different in every city and town in Arizona. The Governor has committed to fix these issues to pave the way for innovation in Arizona.
All-in-all the Governor appears to truly understand business and is working to make Arizona companies grow, expand and find the workforce they need to do so.
