Chamber panelists talk workforce development and higher education
Fountain Hills, AZ–Education panel discussion to focus on workforce needed to full current and future jobs in Fountain Hills.
Many local business owners express concerns about finding qualified staff within a reasonable driving distance. The Chamber hears issues form members that include unskilled labor positions are difficult to fill, skilled positions remain vacant for longer than the Phoenix metro average and the perception that Fountain Hills is a far drive continues to proliferate many conversations.
On January 19, the Fountain Hills Chamber will host a panel of local experts to discuss workforce development. The panelists include Dr. Jan Gehler, President–Scottsdale Community College, Dr. Maria L. Hesse, Vice Provost for Academic Partnerships–Arizona State University, Pauline Acosta, Director Center for Career Advancement–EVIT and Dr. Patrick Sweeney, Superintendent–Fountain Hills Unified School District, Scott Cooper, Economic Development Specialist, Town of Fountain Hills.
These education and workforce leaders will share information about transitions from high school to post-secondary programs, trends in education, programs experiencing decline and growth, as well as workforce development issues associated with current and future pipeline of employees. The audience will have time for questions and answers.
