It’s time for another Monday Member Spotlight! We want to highlight the Fountain Hills Republican Club this week, as they are currently offering two scholarships for local students to pursue a higher education. We heard more about these opportunities from the FHRC’s Secretary, Boe James.
The Fountain Hills Republican Club is dedicated to keeping the community informed regarding issues that impact all the people within our community, our state and nation, our elected officials, the issues they face, progress they’ve made in their assignments and how they see what may lay ahead for their particular positions.
Knowing that an informed populace is all important for keeping our Country functioning well the Club is very interested in education. With these goals in mind, the Club’s Board of Directors voted to offer a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from Fountain Hills High School. As the details of the offer were being discussed, it was suggested that it should expand the offer of a second $500.00 to any Fountain Hills or Fort McDowell resident that was interested in furthering his or her education.
The applicants may attend the school of their choice, be it academic or trade oriented. The Scholarship Committee composed of four Republican Club Board Members will personally interview all candidates in determining the winner in each area. Every legal resident is welcome to apply. There is absolutely no need for the applicant or their family to be registered Republicans.
Fountain Hills High school seniors have many scholarships to compete for and its seniors have consistently been successful in winning many. The Fountain Hills Republican Club wanted to offer some assistance to a wide range of students.
Adults out in the working world have far less opportunities for such aid, and with the pressures of working and family commitments tend to lay aside aspirations to advance or change careers. The Club agreed offering some assistance may be just the trigger that would boost an adult to give further education a go and ultimately improve their live situation.
Thank you to the Fountain Hills Republican Club for their investment in the future education of Fountain Hills! You can learn more about the club on their website HERE.
